Rachel Muelle

Darien Civic Engagement Project Student

Rachel Muelle is double majoring in Political Science and Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. She is active in three student organizations: Vice President of the Colombian American Student Association (CASA), Public Relations for the Latinx Pre-Law Society (LPLS), and Secretary of the Latin American Women Organization (LAWO). During the summer of 2024, Rachel interned at Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity (RVHFH) and Sodette KM Plunkett and Associates, an immigration law firm in Elizabeth, New Jersey. These internships allowed her to combine her passion for civic involvement with her interest in law, as she worked to provide resources to marginalized communities and support immigrants through legal aid. Her community engagement extends through initiatives like Love in Action—delivering essential needs while fostering solidarity and perseverance—and New Generation, where she supports a young adult group focused on fostering personal growth, building meaningful connections, and equipping individuals to navigate life’s challenges.
