Darien Civic Engagement Project

Experience Politics

Eagleton Institute of Politics invite students to apply for the Fall 2019 Darien Civic Engagement Project – an exciting opportunity to put your interest in politics into action on the Rutgers campus.

What is the Darien Civic Engagement Project?

The Darien Civic Engagement Project is offered during the Fall and Spring semesters at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University. For the upcoming Fall semester, students can register for a 1.5 credit Topics in Political Science course (790:250). Enrolled students will work together with Dr. Elizabeth Matto of the Eagleton Institute of Politics and CYPP staff on RU Voting – a civic engagement initiative dedicated to registering, educating, and mobilizing students to participate in the political process

In conjunction with their coursework, DCEP students will meet together weekly, work directly with local high school students and administer interactive sessions, and research youth voter turn-out rates and participate in a public presentation at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at the end of the semester.

If taken in conjunction with an additional 1.5-credit political science course, such as Reading Social Science Research (790:254), these credits will count as political science elective credits.
