Collaborate with RU Voting
On and off campus community programs can support Rutgers students’ ability to be democratically engaged in all areas of their lives. Here you can access nonpartisan voting and civic engagement resources created by the RU Voting program to integrate civic education into your organization.
Our Mission
Rutgers’ mission of educating “involved citizens and effective leaders for a dynamic world” has never been more important. Towards this end, the RU Voting program has developed resources for community partners to implement civic learning into their organization.
Using an evidenced-based approach to infuse civic learning and engagement opportunities throughout all facets of campus life, we are committed to:
- Supporting and Encouraging Student Voting
- Encouraging Political Discourse
- Infusing Curricular and Co-Curricular Experiences with Democratic Learning
- Evaluating and Benchmarking our Efforts
If you have any questions about community resources, please reach out to Jessica Ronan-Frisch at jronan@eagleton.rutgers.edu.
Tabling Partnerships
RU Voting partners with student organization and University departments to support nonpartisan voter registration and mobilization events on campus. Interested groups can partner with RU Voting if they meet the following criteria:
- Must be a registered Rutgers University department or student organization
- Must utilize CYPP’s TurboVote platform when conducting voter registration; external tracking platforms cannot be utilized (studentvote.org, All IN to Vote, etc.)
- Partners are responsible for securing the event location (contact table, room, etc.) and communicating the location with RU Voting at 72 hours in advance
- Provide at least one volunteer to be present with the RU Voting team member conducting voter registration
RU Voting requests at least 5-business days notice for collaboration opportunities. Last minute requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis dependent on staffing capabilities.
Voter Registration Training
Organizations interested in training their organization or department to conduct nonpartisan voter registration can request a training led by a CYPP staff member. Trainings are held in-person or virtually for approximately 30-45 minutes in length. All trainings include a step-by-step process for leading voter registration, information on casting a ballot successfully, as well as facilitation skill building. Trainings are scheduled year-round, but the CYPP team recommends not arranging trainings in the week before the New Jersey voter registration deadline. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Rachel Druker (rduker@eagleton.rutgers.edu).
Student Organization Announcement
If you are a Rutgers Student Organization interested in having a member of the RU Voting team provide a voter registration or mobilization announcement at a organization meeting or event, please complete the following survey at least 5-business days in advance and an RU Voting intern will be in touch. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Rachel Druker (rduker@eagleton.rutgers.edu). Announcement requests will open in mid-August 2026.
