Bio

Varshini Prakash (age 26) is the co-founder and executive director of the Sunrise Movement. This non-profit is intended to build a coalition of young people to combat climate change. The Sunrise Movement was founded in 2017 and has grown considerably since then. It was one of the driving forces that made the Green New Deal a household term and that motivated major news outlets to host a 2020 Democrat forum about climate change.
