Social Media and Website Intern for the Young Elected Leaders Project
Job Description
The Young Elected Leaders Project is looking to hire one intern to aid in website updating and social media management. The intern will keep our YELP social media up to date and will update and maintain our website. This includes posting about our new data, reposting news articles and posts from other youth representation organizations, and finally, keeping the data and publication pages of our website up to date as we release new data.
The intern will work closely with Dr. Elizabeth Matto, Director of the Center for Youth Political Participation, and with Brit Anlar, the lead graduate researcher. The intern is expected to work approximately 3-5 hours per week and attend bi-weekly meetings with Dr. Matto and Brit. These meetings may be held in-person or virtually. This is a paid opportunity; interns will be paid $15.00 per hour.
Eligibility requirements
- Must be a current Rutgers University upper-level (junior or senior) undergraduate
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Rutgers Visual Identify a plus
- Experience with creating content for social media and website management
- Experience drafting and writing public-facing documents including press releases and other documents
- Ability to manage multiple social media platforms at a time
- Ability to work independently and in a group
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends when necessary

Data Collection Graduate Research Assistant for the Young Elected Leaders Project
Job Description
The Young Elected Leaders Project is looking to hire one graduate researcher to aid in data collection and data management: working specifically on age data collection at the local, state, and national level. The graduate researcher will also aid in the development of data presentation documents and webpages.
The researcher will work closely with Dr. Elizabeth Matto, Director of the Center for Youth Political Participation, and with Brit Anlar, the lead graduate researcher. This position will require approximately 5-8 hours of work per week, including a bi-weekly meeting with Dr. Matto and Brit. These meetings may be held in-person or virtually, depending on suitability. This is a paid opportunity; interns will be paid $20.00 per hour.
Eligibility requirements
- Must be a current Rutgers University graduate student in a Masters or Ph.D. program
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in excel management
- Knowledge of R and NVivo, or similar programs
- Ability to work independently and in a group
- Previous experience with website management
- Previous experience with Canva or other design software
