2020 – 2021 Aresty Research

The 2020-21 Aresty Research for the Young Elected Leaders Project continues to focus on understanding who Millennial and Generation Z young elected leaders are, bringing attention to both their presence in politics and their unique experiences with and attitudes about public service. To achieve this end, our research team is maintaining a robust dataset of young adults serving in office at the national, state, and local levels as well as constructing a dataset of young adults running for Congress. Our team also recruits and interviews young elected leaders and engages in systematic qualitative data analysis of these personal interviews. Our hope is to continue laying the foundation for a broader systematic study of all young adults serving in office.
