Identifying Volunteering Opportunities
What Can I Help With?
Looking for volunteer opportunities in your community?
Have students look to their peers for inspiration through our Volunteering BINGO! Give students the BINGO card below and direct them to find a classmate who has served the community in the ways listed. The first one to get BINGO by getting five boxes in a row wins!

What Do Students at Our School Volunteer For? Suggested Activity
On a whiteboard or chalkboard, rewrite the question above and encourage students to respond with a cause or volunteer opportunity that’s important to them. They don’t have to actually have worked there, though it helps: the idea is for students to see what matters to other kids and what opportunities are available locally.
Extension: To extend this exercise, student responses could be collected and published in a class newsletter, where students are given the opportunity to share with peers why they care about the issues they do. Alternatively, this activity can be used with the templates below to help you students organize a service project.

Volunteering Role Models
We believe that representation is important, and seeing young leaders making a difference can inspire students to do the same. See role models of young adults who are making a difference in their community through service project.
